Surinder Kumar Gupta records two songs for Devotional Album on Mata Vaishno Devi

Shahid Mallya – Kavita Raam – Anurag Maurya renders the bhajans

It is said that music is a way to reach God. The journey to the Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is an enthralling voyage. With “Mata Di’s” blessings, Jammu based Surinder Kumar Gupta who wanted to culminate this holy pilgrimage and also to mark the beginning of his entertainment odyssey with a devotional album on “Mata Vaishno Devi” has launched a music album.

On Monday, 13th June 2022, music director Prakash Nar (a veteran and doyen for providing background score and jingles in all the languages since the last three decades) recorded two songs at Euphony Studio at Andheri (West) in Mumbai.

The spiritual songs were rendered by eminent singers Shahid Mallya, Kavita Raam and Anurag Maurya. The lyrics have been penned by Moti Sultanpuri and Tamanna Arora.

Speaking on the occasion producer Surinder Kumar Gupta says, “I am a resident from Jammu where I am a landlord as well as run a public school. I have been regularly commuting to Mumbai since the last 30 years. Here the glitter and glamour of the entertainment industry lured me too. I have been gearing up to embark on with something pious. Post pandemic I took a step forward and with the blessings of Vaishno Mata ji I launched my concern – Satyashanti Production and my debut venture with a devotional album and have tentatively titled it as Vaishno Mata Ke Bhajan”.

Gupta further adds, “We have recorded two bhajans. One is a solo in the male voice of Shahid Mallya and the other a duet in the voices of Kavita Raam and Anurag Maurya. We will soon add 3 or 4 more bhajans and have a complete bouquet which the listeners too will revere bhakti through music. We will also film these bhajans at the exotic locales of Jammu and Mumbai and release it in the coming 2/3 months.”

The poems have a variety and are a tribute to ‘Suhagans’ states lyricist Moti Sultanpuri.  He further shares, “O Meri Maang Sada…..” is a duet sung by Kavita Raam and Anurag Maurya. The other one is “Laal Hari Neeli Peeli….is a solo sung by Shahid Mallya.” Highlighting his journey which he began in 2012 with a T-Series’ devotional album “Sai Yogiraj” and had the privilege of writing lyrics for Aggam Kumar Nigam, Javed Ali, Shabaab Sabri, Tisha Nigam, Mamta Sharma amongst many others. Apart from writing songs he has also scripted a couple of serials which is a comedy and a family drama to be aired shortly.

Anurag Maurya has more than 40 songs to his credits which include devotional as well as films. His recently released single album “Bezubaan Sa” has crossed 1 million views. There is another single album with Alka Yagnik in the pipeline. He has also got an opportunity to also provide musical score for a film “Malishka – The Mystery” featuring Rajpal Yadav and Gurleen Chopra and also in few web series.

Music director Prakash Nar has provided background score for more than 100 films in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Bhojpuri languages. The recent Marathi films include “Email Female”, “Subway” and “Bindas Jeevan”. “3 Shahane” in Hindi was recently released. He even made jingles for commercials.

Durga Singh is the line producer and Ashok Anchan is the PRO of this devotional and pious album.
